Nestled in 13 wooded acres just south of downtown Dallas, Dallas Heritage Village provides visitors, both young & young at heart, a unique museum experience. The Village is a living history museum, portraying life in North Texas from 1840-1910 with permanent and temporary exhibits throughout 38 historic structures. A Civil War era farm, elegant Victorian homes, a school, a church, as well as several commercial buildings represent the lives of Dallas earliest residents. During the fall and spring, the Village highlights historical themes and brings them to life through first-person characters dressed in period clothing. Self-guided and docent-led tours available. .
